  • 2004 Dodge Ram 3500...Final Tally sheet

Everyone has a favorite truck or car during there life...mine was our 2004 ram 3500 laramie 4wd four door pickup. OB1JEEPER on this forum helped me find it back in 2010 in Arizona where he lived. Here is the final tally sheet for our ownership

Bought with 131k miles in 2010 for 15,500

Sold with 281k miles in 2018 for 10,000

Oil and filter changed every 5k miles with fuel filter every other

    Transmission serviced every 30K miles

Heaviest load towed was a Case 580K on a triple axle trailer we weighed out at 22,000 total

Best mileage was 25mpg over several hundred miles running at 60 mph.

Average mileage was 21 not towing and 17 when towing.

Over the years I changed the following parts

    Waterpump 2 times

Brakes at 132k and 270K Second set also received calipers

    turn signal switch

    front axle ujoint

    drive shaft ujoints

    throttle position sensor

    fuel lift pump

    front axle hub

    Tires at 132K and 200K

Best truck ever....Total cost of ownership minus oil and filters and tires...

    4 cents per mile....

I miss my my 2004 2500 everyday.Only reason I sold it is because I got tired of shifting gears. I just recently purchased a 2016 2500 with the hopes of it bringing me the same joy as my 2004.

I too love my old 2003 Dodge/Cummins, even though it's a 2ED unit. I've had similar experience as Dave relative to parts needed, and with just shy of 415,000 on it now, it's still running well and is by far THE most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.

415k is pretty impressive. Highway driving and low humidity must be the key.

292,000 miles. Most of it work.

She's on her second brown dog. First one rode the same way.

3 more years and I get "antique" plates. [8D]
