Staying in Destin

The wife and I are planning a vacation in Destin. Can anyone suggest a good place to stay and rent? Not taking the boat with us, too far to haul so probably end up renting one for a week or so. Need canal or dock etc. for the boat rental. Would like to be close to gulf access or at least a short boat ride out. Any suggestions please.

im sure some local guys will chime in. Ive only stayed at sand piper condominiums which meet your requirements

How many people? Sounds like you want to be in the Destin Harbor. Sandpiper is pretty popluar with the funament guys and it is at the East end of the harbor. There are many canal front homes for rent as well, some with pools. Most boat rentals are pontoons and they usually only rent daily. Not sure of any center console boats in the area for rent, but plenty of guides to take you fishing.
