well ,I am a proud new owner of a 1995 22 mako center console.I love this boat! the only issue presently is that it came with a 2004 225 honda(roughly the size and weight of a small car),and she sits Low in the ass.

I have read that issue seems to be common, and I believe a bracket with a closed transom will resolve this.my questions are these:

1:do brackets have flotation in them?

2:is counterweight in the bow a good idea?

    3:Will it pull the scupper

    above the water line?

4:does anybody have any good resources around Jacksonville, fla. that wont break the bank? I'm just a humble machinist...

thanks in advance for any help.

    v/r,

    the foul hooker

Welcome and congrats. Yes you have one of the heaviest motors but a very reliable one. Where are your batteries located. Yes if you move weight it will help the scuppers.

Brackets are touchy. I love mine but my new Suzuki is also heavy at 610lbs I have the widest tub I could have built. When I had the 2 stroke the bracket raised the boat 2" up. Now I am about normal. Little bow light when running.
