    Hello new member here, recently purchased this 1989 Mako 231.

    Excited to get to work on upgrading a few things and getting her out on the water.

                Full gas tank, tons of gear, two coolers full of ice, two fat people.

                Seas 1-2 ft.

                4200 Rpms: 27 mph 2.9 mpg

                4500 Rpms: 30 mph 2.8 mpg

                4800 Rpms: 33 mph 2.5 mpg

                5300 Rpms: 39 mph

                  I remember seeing that rig listed. Congrats, she is a beauty. Hull looks new with fresh power and a new trailer [8D]. I am not sure, but I believe that Suzuki should turn higher rpm's. Definitely expected to see higher performance numbers. I would verify max rpm's, and then look into motor height and prop.

                    Thx Chuck, Though this was a couple 100 shy of max rpms I do think I need to look at Props perhaps.

                      congrats, sweet looking boat. I am running zukes 18.5 pitch prop 6100rpms at 45mph light load same boat and motor on bracket. thought this might help you with prop selection.
