  • 92 261b cost

Hey guys ,looking for some info from everyone on what is a good number to pay for a 92 261b with 92 Yama's on it (200's) Boat is all original .It appears to be in great shape from the pictures. After a conversation with the seller he claims is a Gem (lol,Heard that before ) .The asking price is 22,000 boat motors and trailer .I would also have to transport it my self or hire someone .The boat has sat for 2 years untouched or started .I do not care about the engines as i will purchase new ones .If i can get them running i would definitely sell them to the highest bidder

Also the owner is going to have someone get the boat running and ready to sell .

If looking to repower anyway check Mobile, AL craigslist, there are 2 261's ( 1 bracketed & 1 not) listed w/o power and both under 10k.

2 years untouched is a long time for a boat.

22K seems a bit steep and two years untouched without seeing makes me cringe a little.

I'm thinking mid teens would be a better price

Thats where i was with it also ,two years is i bit of time to pass .I spoke to the gentleman today and i got him down to 18500.I still would like to knock some more off that before i pull the trigger .At that number it will not be touched by a mech. I will just have it transported down here .I would of course look at it before i fork over any money .

I would say 10k but I've never seen it. Having just bought one that sat for 3 years you have a ton of work ahead of you, don't get me wrong, it's worth doing just very time consuming. Figure on replacing fuel tank, all pumps - bilge, bait, washdown etc. service or replace trim tab components. Reseal deck fittings and thru hulls, replace fuel lines. Compounding hull and wax, service trailer (bearings, grease seals, lights etc) if there is one. Update or add electronics. I would say I have easily spent 4 k and have not done the tank yet. Hope that helps

                      There is a trailer

Heres where I'm at with the deal.I work with a few guys at boat shows selling newer boats ( I do not sell boats for a living) .I have been a lot of newer boats in the last 4 years .There is no way in hell i am spending 140,000 on a new boat .I can afford to do so .I just can not see spending that kind of money and in three years its a big POS .With that being said i could redo this entire boat form floor up and still not be over 80,000 .I am capable of doing a lot of the work ,although time is the tuff part .I was thinking of getting a Survey done to see whats the deal with the boat .The gentlemen who owns the boat brought in brand new and he was 63 years of age at the time .he is now 87 .This is a big deal to me because this is one of 5 boats he owns which is telling me that the chances of the boat being abused is slim .I do know that it is still a lot of work ,but good bones to start with .I have always been the kind of person to look for something that has been taken care of and spending a little more on it is ok with me .

I am not looking at it as i am spending more money on a better hull, its sill a 92 .I am looking at it that it was never beat to hell and was always on a trailer never sat in the water for more than a day .

I pulled the trigger on her ,she will need a little TLC once i get her home. One of the cleanest 261's i have seen in the 2 years i have been looking .The seller gave me the cushions ,they have never been installed on the boat ! There are still in the bag from Mako .The owner is 84? and he brought the boat brand new ,he only used it when is in-laws came down, which i was told was not to often .The repair center showed me all the receipts since new ,there where only 5 most was just maintenance .
