  • New Mako Owner

Hello, I've been around for a few months but hadn't introduced myself. I purchased my 89 261 center console with twin Yamaha 250 OX66's back in November. I've reworked all the safety items and re-covered the t-top. After a few shakedown trips I took it to the ledge off St. Augustine twice this week and I have to say these boats are awesome. Thursday was pretty rough but it took it well and saturday was smooth as could be and made 60 miles in a little under 2 hours. Totaled 300 miles in two days.

I've seen some magnificent boats on this site and some really amazing builds. I thank you all fo some of the advice i've received already and the advice I'll ask for in the future as I have about 5 years worth of projects to do.

    Preacherman,

Welcome to the site and Congrats on the shakedown to the ledge. How did you do? I am in Central Florida and used to fish out of Vilano Beach in High school. Great flounder on the backside of the Jetty. I have about 90 great numbers offshore for bottom fish that I have not seen in years. if you ever need to fill a seat let me know and I can drive up and meet you.

We scored 4 dolphin and 1 skipjack in 2 days. The bite slowed down after that last front. I used to flounder fish there myself back after high school. Never could get them to bite much.
