  • Hey Brett....center keel 1985 21B

    Brett,

    Trying to understand what the center stringer-keel was built in the 21B in 1985. My friends later 221 doesnt have this, jsut the two outer stringers.

    I'd sure like to grind it out about 4-5" at the transom to get better drainage out of the two sides of the bilge, but dont want to compromise anything.

      B is a designation for bracketed, not offered on the 21 from the factory. Post pictures of your boat. The boats that I have seen with a center stringer where all Marine Patrol boats used for heavy duty. That may be what you have. DTMackey has one and you can probably see in his project thread pictures to confirm.

          No it's a 1885 21B they didn't have brackets until later
