  • Long Time Lurker, Finally Offical 224

Hello gents, names Kevin. Been browsing this site for a few years, ever since I started getting my own boats, Thought my first boat would be a Mako buuuut it ended up being a SeaCraft. Long story short and 3 boats later I landed me a Mako. 1985 224 (I believe) with a 1995 Johnson 225. Wont be able to bring it home till Tuesday so I don't have great pictures right now. Been sitting for a few years so I defiantly have some work ahead of me. But overall its a solid boat and hope to have her out in a few weeks.

Thanks buddy. Yes the Trailer had a broken axle when I first went to go see. But the seller had it repaired before I picked it up yesterday.

LoL I've been gettinf hell from my old SeaCraft Buddys from the forum ever since I got this Mako lol.

Congrats on what looks like a nice find and welcome to CM. The 224 is a great hull, and yours appears to be in good shape.

Thank you sir. Yes this boat was a great find its very solid. Its just been sitting for a few years on a lift down in the Keys. Hopefully the engine is not problematic. Well see.

I'm missing the 224 emblem from one of the sides. Is that something I can buy or not ?

Yes I ordered my new ones on line. Just search 224 emblems. The boat looks great. Mine also sat for over 6 years on the trailer. Same engine- I pulled cleaned and soaked all the carbs, Changed plugs, water pumps, gear oil, all the fuel hoses coming and going from the carbs. Ethanol will eat those older hoses. Whats the plans for the boat? Fish cruise all the above?
