I had a 1977 Mako 17 which was handed down to me by my father. I loved the boat, but had to sell it after Hurricane Andrew in 1992 because I was displaced. (It has an unusual poling platform, a railing you can lean on). I would love to find that boat, but it is unlikely. I am actively looking right now for a 70's Mako, and I look forward to sharing with everyone on this site.

Welcome Bruce, there are often 17s that come up for sale for reasonable money....use Craigslist search feature (searchtempest.com)and hopefully you can find what your looking for....If you have room for a slightly larger boat the 19 and 20 foot models are also good bay and neer shore crafts....I have had one of each and enjoyed them all...
