I just picked up my 1981 20 foot last night and got it home this morning. It needs some love, but that's why I got on here to begin with. Gonna get the paperwork right and get to work on it. Looking forward to using this wealth of knowledge along the way!

I started off with a 20, they are very versatile. I fished the gulf and lake Michigan both with that boat. It was a sweetheart. Hope you enjoy and have great times with it. Where are you from? enjoy...dave

Congrats on the new to you Mako.

Nice looking rig. There are tons of very knowledgeable folks on here that are always happy to help out.

Welcome to the madness and I hope you get many years of enjoyment from your rig.

Michigan Dave, I'm from South Carolina, about an hour south of Myrtle beach. Not originally, but this is where I call home at least until I graduate college. From there, who knows (hopefully still on some coast)

Looking at the model of my motor, it's a 1994 Johnson 140 V4 with a 25" shaft. I thought the transom looked higher than normal mako 20's, and this one has already been raised for a 25" motor. I'm guessing probably in 1994 when the motor was hung on the back of it. That's exciting and relieving all at the same time.

transom done is a huge plus, the next thing on those 20's is the fuel fill hose will go bad from the gunnel over to the tank. Maybe the tank and hose is already done also?? Nice looking old 20...
