  • 1982 21 ft cc__soft hull?

I'm looking at a Mako w/ that description ( 1982-21ft/single yamaha 150). It needs work ( that's what i was looking for) and on the side of the hull i felt it a bit soft, when pushing by hand. Would that be the case of the foam going bad or not having foam on the sides? Also in order to feel it more " solid", can i pour 2 parts foam inside w/out creating a problem ? - Thanks

    cadeco,

I am a new member here and certainly no expert.

I think we need some more information, where on the hull is the soft spot, can you see the inside of the hull in that spot via an inspection hatch or a fish well?

Do you have photos of the spot or spots?

    Thanks,

    George

On either side of the hull, directly outside the area of the rod holder area, you have a single layer of glass, with no foam support, yes its going to sound a little different when you pound your fist in that area.... but it shouldn't be spongy or soft. In front or behind those areas, you have foam to help strengthen.....The floor is way more common to get soft than the sides.

Thank you guys for answering the question. Now ( i guess) I will pull the trigger an buy it!

Does a 150 Yamaha is too little for this boat?
