  • New Boat (to me)

id="Times New Roman">id="size4">id="black">I just bought a 1983 Mako 224 with a Merc Opti 225 on it. I still have not taken it out yet but look forward to it on Thursday. I have taken a couple test rides with the seller but not yet on myt own. The boat rides very nice and is pretty fast. With two folks and 14 tank of gas will get to 53. at 3800 rpms it gets to 36mph and gets 4mpg... I am really happy. This is the first boat I have owned by myself since I was a kid. Last boat I shared was with my eldest son which was a 23' Hyrdo sport with a yama 224 4s. Because it had a modified v hull it rode horribly in the Albmarle sound in NC. I moved down to Englewood Fl and will be fishing this boat and cruzin... Excited. BTW my name is Craig McCrodden and I retired from the NC Legislature in their IT dept and moved south to be closer to my father. Looking forward to getting lots of info about my new toy...

Welcome to ClassicMako! Don't forget to post some pictures - you have to hose them somewhere, i.e. photobucket, then post the IMG code here.
