I just bought a Mako 23 IB (1976) My first power boat. Have been a sailor all my life and still am. The Mako's steering works fine but the cable looks in bad shape. The vinyl cover is gone in many places and the spiral "wire" is rusting of course. I can't find any name on the helm "gearbox" and trying to figure out how to identify a replacement cable. I don't know if it's a Morse or Telefelex and to be honest where to start..Can anyone help identify a replacement cable for me or just where I need to be looking to identify????.

    Thanks
