  • wood in 17 mako

I am new to the forum. I have already learned a lot. thanks. what I would like to know is what year did mako stop using wood in the transom and stringers. I want a 17' or maybe a little bigger, but I am not capable of the restoration I have seen here of the older hulls. most of it involves transom and stringers, and the fuel tank. I can do the tank. I have a yamaha 90. I boat at Wrightsville beach, NC. I need an open front, livewell, and swim ladder. bimini or t-top.thanks for any help. capt den[]

Welcome to the forum. Try contacting mako. They should have that information. Most classics are going to have wood IIRC.

2012, but your model was stopped several years before. Nothing wrong with wood in a boat and almost all problems come from improperly installed items.
