Hey now. I'm a boat wanter currently. Looking at a 74 hull mako 22ft with a 96 evinrude. It looks in good shape to me but I'm honest I've never owned anything but a 14' John boat. This means it's a starter boat. I'm 1.5 hrs from the gulf of Mexico so that the waters I'll be in. Just wondering what I should look at and watch for and your opinions. It runs fine but needs some TLC. All the cusions and wood need replacing or refinishing. I've been wanting a boat and I've always liked the mako. (I think it's the greatest emblem ever) lol. So thanks in advance for any words y'all have for me.

Oh, I can get it for a little less than five grand. B

Is that the one listed on Craigslist in Gulfport with the 225 Evinrude? Yellow w t-top?

If so, there is a little debate on whether it is a 22 or a 20 ft model. See this link.
