    yep two in the floor. I never used them for fish, but did use them for bumpers and line storage

    The fish boxes I speak of are the ones that are built into the floor and are flush. They have a drain with a plug .

    I think I had reached the same conclusion the "fishing boxes", (live-wells?) really served no purpose but put more weight on the back of my boat. I also feel they were the cause for my boat to sink/capsize. My mechanic removed them and filled the holes with bondo/fiberglass.

    My Shark's a bit leaner. Note the unfinished work. Need to sand it down and paint. My mechanic might have saved the engine but I consider the rest of his work pretty shoddy.

    Good choice to remove them. Good luck!

    Im looking for the best way to eliminate the two rear fish boxes on a 1973 20 ft Mako.They serve no purpose to me Ihave plugged them from the outside and inaide the boxes but Id like to eliminate entirely. Thanks (New Guy)
