  • 282 power

I have a buddy with a 2000 282 that he is redoing. He is at the point of buying motors and has the option to get his hands on a pair of Suzuki 200 4 strokes with very low hours on them. Does anybody on here know or have any first hand experience on whether those 200's will be enough for the 282. He's not looking to make it a speed demon, he just wants to be able to run with ease when fully loaded down. There is a 282 for sale here in jax that has twin 200 zukes and the guy swears he's getting 52-54 mph loaded full of fuel. Is that realistic or is the guy blowing smoke?I was thinking it could be realistic with the right prop

twin 200 will probably do mid 40s. with weight being a consideration it would be a great fit to that hull.
