Boat show is next month, so I'll see if things get any better. I have been surprised by how much the G2 is, and the fact that local dealers are not even is same ballpark as Outboard Specialties on Suzuki.

Mine is 2.5 yrs old. My motor was $16,200 another 2500 for DE-rigging,rigging and adding fly-by wire and digital gauges. I did get 1k for my older Johnson on the open market to offset a little. with tax i was at $20100. The closest Yamaha I could find was $27400. My local shop was close enough to Outboard specialty price it saved me from driving down and he included the first 20-hr service. I do my own 100 hr service but do order the supplies from my dealer to help keep a relationship.

I bought in October so no show just old fashion negotiations.

I shaved off about 600 gals of gas year over year. Average $3.00 I saw a return of $3600 and better security

Did you explore any other options, or just price Suzuki and Yamaha? Of the $2,500 extra, do you recall the fly-by-wire cost? I know Tim went mechanical on his 200's, but that was likely doubled cost for twins. Everyone that I know that has, say it is absolutely worth the upgrade.

I saw a local ad yesterday about great deals on "new and improved" Honda 150's. I haven't had a chance to look into, but it was enough to peak interest. I have always thought of Honda as great motor but weak and heavy, so I am curious about changes that might have been made. We had a 60 on a flats boat and it was an awesome little motor.

I am trying to explore all options, but doesn't seem any manufacturer can compete with Suzuki prices.

That's a pretty good ROI. What did you have before? So you think you would make your money back in 5.5 years? How often do you run the boat? I always thought that I wouldn't make my money back on a repower and I should run these saltwater series until they die.

                Keven,

I had a 1996 Johnson 225 with 1600 hours. I have almost 400 hours now. I hit 3 years in October 19. I do use the boat, would like to use it more but work gets in the way. About 30% in freshwater. I also have 6 year warranty.

Chuck Honda sold to Tahotsu so i am not sure what support they have. Michigan Dave loves his new 250 and he was close to 15k out the door. Fly by wire is so nice I wont go back. I would have to pull the receipts but I think it was around 300 more. Yes those where my only two options. The only thong I would like to have changed is the 610 lbs. But the con is overshadowed by performance. As a great throaty growl at 4000 rpms

Im in the process of repowering my 21 mako. Ive called around most of the central Florida Suzuki dealers and Talon had the best price including outboard specialties. Im torn between a 200 or a 225 because of the weight and cost difference.

I purchased my tohatsu (honda) 225 fall of 17 for 13,000 installed , including new gauges and controls. My neighbor at the same time bought the 250 for his boat and paid 15,200 installed.

I have had extreamly good luck with the Hondas I have owned. The Tohatsu is built in the. Honda factory with an additional coat of paint and decals at the end of the line. In the Tampa area my recommendation is Northeastern marine.

Curtis has been a very supportive dealer and been very good to me after the sale.

I used Outboard Specialties. New 2016 300HP with fly by wire and everything that was needed to rig it was around $19,500 delivered to me in central FL. All I had to do was bolt it on run a few wires and add oil. Any time I have had a question or needed service kits they are right on top of it with great service.

wow, 19500? And they had no problem just letting you install it yourself? I would think that would void the warranty?
