  • Yamaha 150 help

I have a neighbor with a deck boat and Yamaha 150. Out on the boat yesterday it did not want to stay at a higher rpm. Will max as 4k and then work down. Did not run smooth at all until about 3200. Annual service recently done to include spark plugs and other misc items.

I was told there are some small fuel screens that form films on them and starve the fuel. Where do I find these? The water separator is new. Ethanol free fuel and fuel medics additive and the inline filters under the hood also cleaned and replaced. Thoughts

4 stroke fuel injection- Yes we would did the ball trick- though it would firm up it did not make any change in the engine.

If you're not getting any alarms or codes its got to be fuel.

I'd start by narrowing the issue down. Run the motor off a 5 gallon jug and take the boats fuel system out of the equation. Then you know if the motor has a restriction or the boats tank/vent/antisiphon/filter...

That link that Dave posted is for an HPDI, but...I agree with Mike, check the simple things like fuel filters, then work your way up to injectors.
