We ended up going with a low hour '05 F250, and we're loving it so far. We were worried about the added weight of a four stroke, but our scuppers are above the water line so all good there.

What did you go w/? I am repowering w/ Suzuki. For my price point Im trying to decide between the 200 or 225. It will be on the transom. Im leaning towards the 225 but the dealership is pushing me toward the 200.

This seems like a solid deal and good fit...

I have considered, especially since local, but if I repower I am more likely stuck with current boat and I'm ready for a change.

Weight is the same, MPH will be plus 3 or 4 and power will be equivalent. what price point is it worth to you? I looked at Suzuki 300 but the price points made no sense for the little advantage. It would be cheaper to just change the sticker as I am not sure you will see that big of a difference. Now I have a 224 and a bracket

My 231 with opti 250 will run upper 40s with rev 4 prop. I could probably go faster with a 3 blade but I prefer the hole shot and stern lift that the rev 4 provides. I think someone on here has a 231 with f300 and it does mid 50s IIRC

    Power Options for 231 CC

Repowering a 231 CC...Motor will be on the transom...considering a Yamaha 250 4-Stoke. My "know-it-all" friends (one a previous 231 owner) say to step it up to a 300, that the boat can use the power. I am not a "go faster" by nature, but do appreciate having power to get out of the hole and when needed. Opinions on this subject?
