  • Tilting Seastar Helm Hard to turn

My tilting helm has sticking points when tilted all the way up.

Bring it down a notch and it would turn smoothly.

After Irma I feel sticking points while turning except when fully parallel???

Does it need grease, hydraulic fluid???

    Thanks

Maybe the little CV joint in there is binding. Pull it apart and inspect, it's only 4 allen screws to get it off

      That's what I was thinking?

I wonder if they are rebuildable?

Is it possible just to buy the part that tilts?

if you have the older classic tilt there is an upgrade kit to the newer style. does it have a rubber boot or a plastic cover?

is there any slack in the steering wheel?

one possible source for classic tilt "upgrade kit" if thats what you need.
