I have a 1985 224 that is ready for repower. Planning on 4-stroke, but not looking for advice on brand. What results are you having with 200, 225 and 250? Thanks for input.

I have a 250 on a bracket. I do have to use tabs due to weight. I run at 3900-4000 rpm and cruise at mph sipping gas. The little of the bow rise is offset by everything else a new motor provides. I know people are also happy with a 224 and a 200 hp motor. I do not think you can go wrong from 200-300HP. Depends on your normal loads and fishing conditions.
