  • Bilge Pump Access 282CC

My bilge pump's auto-float switch isn't working leaving me with the manual switch as my only option. In order to physically get into the bilge to replace the float switch or the pump I need a very small person to fit thru the opening.

Has anyone actually had the bilge hatch opening enlarged by a professional fiberglass shop without debilitating the transom to any degree?

Any good shop wouldn't have any problem doing this. You could do it yourself as well, just make sure you epoxy coat any exposed wood when you cut the opening.
