  • U.S. Coast Guard Capacity

I need to make a new capacity plate for my 1977 17' standard Mako with 85hp. Does anyone have a readable plate from a comparable boat?

I need Maximum # of persons and lbs. and Max. lbs. persons, motor, gear. Thanks!

I guess I'm just trying to make the boat legal, I believe it's a Federal law and my old one is completely worn off. I do my boating on Lake Erie, and up here we have an awful lot of pesky law enforcement officials which seem to have nothing better to do than pull people over for equipment checks.

I dont think it matters a damn. If they start looking for mine, I'll point them in the direction of a bare aluminum plate. Good luck fellas.

Its required by law for the manufacturers to put it on, I think, but I seriously doubt you can get a ticket for not having one. Wish it wasnt there to begin with, or at least put inside the console or something, its nothing but an eyesore on an otherwise blemish free boat.
