i have a 17 mako that has had a 90 yamaha and now has a 130 yamaha and both seem to run well w/ a 17 ss yamaha prop.

i do get some steering torque that is annoying but haven't been able to eliminate that......anyone else solve this problem?

bakehook Have you played with the little anoide fin under the cavitation plate? Some adjustment out of stright ahead will help.

          Bakehook,

I have a 171 with a Yamaha 90. I seem to also get alot of steer torque until I trim it up. Once I trim up to #3 or #4 on the Yamaha trim gauge, it seems to neutral out.

Once the weather warms, I plan on tinkering with the anoide fin as warthog5 suggests.

I plan on adding trim tabs but I don't think that will change the steer torque.
