  • 258 live well

I have an 82' 258; currently my live well is recirc only. I would like to install a thru hull with a pump to feed the live well but my problem or question is how do I get the water out. I do not want to install a second pump; I was hoping to drill out a 1 1/4" overflow near the aft top of the tank and run an 1 1/4" overflow hose and tee into the transom drain located in the bilge.

Has anyone done this and is the height of the top of the livewell high enough above the water line for this to work.

I guess another way to ask this question is if you open the livewell drain line while at rest how high does the livewell fill on its own?

    any input is appreciated,
