stripping gel coat

I am attempting to remove old gel coat on my 23ft Cayman project so that i can re glass the gunnels. what's the best way to go about this , I have used an electric da sander and a belt sander with 40 grit belt. I am curious about using a media blaster and was wondering if anyone has used this to strip down to bare glass. Thank you!

I had a guy soda blast the bottom paint off of my 261 down to the gelcoat but Im not sure about gelcoat itself.
