    Have a 1989 classic 201. Can it handle a 2000 Yammy 225 ox66. Just blew up my 1989 200 saltwater series.

    Should be good.

    Your transom should handle 550# and the 225 ox66 weights around 475#.

              Figure the difference and add that weight to your transom while she is in the water. Then you will know for sure. When I repowered to a 4 stroke I had my son sit on my old 2 stroke cowling. 100# plus difference and I noticed little change
