1978 23 mako question

Looking at a refit 231978 with Armstrong bracket and 200hp 4- stroke. I am looking to fish mainly within 30 miles of Florida coast . I have read mainly good things about the older boats ability to run in rough seas. But, did read a post that the 1975 23 rode hard and wet? Was the 1975 and different hull? In addition, does the Armstrong bracket improve ride? The model number is M23-817 if this helps thank you

78 was year they changed the 23 to a deep v, 19 degree deadrise at transom (235)...earlier 70s 23s were shallower.

But many times the year is wrong...check the boat by looking at the transom. C***** are also a dead giveaway...
