  • 1983 Mako 228 Cuddy for sale

I purchased a 1983 228 Cuddy this past June and found out today that it needs a new fuel tank as well as foam replaced due to water saturation.

I was told that otherwise it appears sound. Transom okay and stringers unknown. 1987 Evinrude needs a service but is good otherwise.

I'm not interested in getting involved in restoring. Is anyone interested? I paid $5,200.00 boat, motor and trailer.

I have the same boat, just 1 year newer. Unfortunately, you may have over-paid. We bought ours off a donation

website w/o a trailer for $1200. The hull is the same as the famous 224, they just added the cuddy.

I bought the boat because it wasn't painted on the bottom. We had to replace the tank & due to my

son's hard work, cost was under $1000. We repowered with a used, 300 hr 2008 Etec which I have loved.

    Motor cost was $3000.

Hope you can recoup your investment, though it will be difficult. They do handle like a champ if you decide to put the money into her.
