  • outboard motor stand

I probably will rebuild my 225 Rude and I need to put it on a stand. I was thinking of building one out of wood but Im looking for a better idea.

I saw in one of the threads a photo of a 225 motor on a typical car engine stand. http://www.classicmako.com/projects/...es/optis11.jpg

My first thought was that it looks top heavy. The last thing I need is to have a 400+lb motor toppling over in my garage. Ouch!

Anyone have any wisdom to share on this?

I have put several 225s on engine stands like that with no issues, just do not roll it around a bunch.

You can also look around and see wooden ones people have built with 4 large caster wheels on them. They are really nice.
