  • Mako 261 questions

Having a hard time figuring out which Mako this is. Its 1988 hull. The serial number is MRKR023C888. The issue is the transom. Most pics of a Mako 261 I have found online have the engines on the transom. This Mako has a bracket with the engines mounted on it. I know they make a bracket for this boat. But the way the transom is, looks stock. Can anyone shed some light on this boat. One of the engine serial numbers is 63762392. I have some inspecting the boat this Friday. If everything goes well Ill be getting the boat on the 26th.

Ok how do I add a picture?

Could be a 261B, does the transom cap have a drop in box in the middle? For pictures either post the ad link or upload them to imjur and post the forum url code in here

I don't think they had a 261B in 88. Most likely someone added a bracket to it.

Agree. After market or possibly wrong year. Does the inside of transom look like this...
