New buyer - need help

Hey guys and gals. New here!

Just bought a 1983 17'. Looking for front rails for it, but I can't seem to find anything through Mako because they keep telling me they didn't own Mako in the 80's, and a lot of people are saying they have to be custom built. Any truth to that?
