There is a Y Valve that you change the handle to overboard and then turn on the macerator. Of course you must be more then three miles offshore and not in an inland lake or waterway. When you are back inshore, the Y valve must be secured with a lock or you will get a ticket from the USCG if they inspect your vessel. All of this also assumes you have a toilet with a grey water tank and not a port o potty. []
