So I need to install a new transom mount transducer on my new/old Intrepid to let me fish before I can re-do my bilge and install a new thru-hull 'ducer. Since my boat is wet-slipped all year I hate making holes below the waterline. In the past I have been able to glue (5200) small wood pads to the transom and then attach my ducer to that but all those were all trailer boats.
Can I 5200 or epoxy a small piece of wood or starboard to which I can screw the transducer to? Will it hold up to being submerged or should I just screw into the hull? Boat is a '94 Intrepid 28WA.
