I am considering replacing my 1997 Mako 232 factory bracket with an Armstrong bracket. Has anyone out there gone through this project and, if so, any recommendations or suggestions? Looking for someone reputable to remove the old bracket and replace with the Armstrong. I have recently repowered with a Honda BF 250 and need more floatation on the back. I live in New Jersey. Thanks!!

Not sure where in NJ you are, but Ken at NuWave Marine in the Deptford area has always done me fair.

They do excellent fiberglass work & mechanical. I guess the bracket falls somewhere within that range.

I would also go with a name brand bracket also like Armstrong or stainless marine, although I do like some I have season custom from a and j. That being said I would also try to mimic the exact degree negative trim or slightly positive trim that the factory bracket came with.Someone should be able to duplicate that down a degree or two with new bracket and wedges if needed
