Grounding fuel fill

Hi. Im replacing the tank on My Mako 231 and pulled the fuel fill to replace the fill line I dont see any lug to connect a grounding wire

Did it fall off? Do I need to replace it? Thanks for your help!

When I replaced mine the ground wire was attached the bottom side of the fuel filler machine screws with a lock washer and nut.

Yes, through bolt the fuel fill, add the ground wire with a shrink fitting on it to one of the bolts, then add a second lock nut. The ground wire goes to the fuel tank and then to the negative on your battery.

To add to this, my boat also has a ground plate to bond the whole boats grounding system. They come in different sizes, but here's an example
