First post need advice on what motor horsepower and shaft length, boat has transom bracket, how do I send pic?

That boat has low deadrise so it doesn't need much. I would think 150 hp could do it with 175-225 behind optimal.

This boat is new to me, just bought as it sits, new fuel tank floors and paint 4 years ago. Boat is rock solid, will a 200 or 225 work well, will a 25" foot work, I have a manual jack plate for it as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

Can't tell for sure but with that bracket I would guess 25" won't work. That bracket is interesting,does it protrude below the hull? how is it attached?

https://imgur.com/gallery/ZBNKY Bolted and 5200 , looks pretty well made, and yes it has a slight downward angle to compensate for bow rise ( that was what I was told. I will be installing a manual jack plate, why don't you think a 25" will work?

I have a 1977 mako 22. If Im not mistaken you have a 20 inch transom. I had my transom strengthened with 1/4 aluminum plating and added 5 inches to the height. I have 25 inch etec 250 hp on there now with a 15x17 prop and she will run 47mph top end. I would go with more hp than a 150. The boat maxs out at 225hp I think and more is better after you load her down with gear and people.
