  • 231 with DF 300?

Has anyone hung a Suzuki DF300 on a 231 without extra floatation bracket?

      Thank you Brando.

I have a friend that just purchased a DF300. There was a conversation with the dealer about hanging it on the transom, but no longer. He is adding bracket with floatation.

I have a 1996 232B and hung a df300 on her with no problem what so ever. Just make sure you mount it at the right height. BTW she runs great and fuel burn is amazing....

CHECK with your insurance company before purchasing, my insurance was fine with me dropping on the 300

          Paborn,

Thank you. I was kinda hopeful he would hang it on the transom, but a braket has been ordered. I'm glad to hear that yours carries the 800 lbs. I've suspected the 23 would.

The timing of your response is good. Just yesterday there was discussion in this section "2nd Rebuild Make231 fuel tank modifications" (pg 2) about splitting his tank. He wants to be able to manage his weight distribution because he is considering the possibility of adding a pair of 4 strokes in the future. He is thinking his weight will end up between 760# and 780#. I guess that would be the Suzy DF115s.

You might want to contact him and share your thoughts.

BTW, I run a pair of the old Johnson/Suzy DF140s on a 25. Great engines...but your 300 makes more sense. Good job!
