  • Clouded Mercury Gauges

    I know there have been some posts about the fact that the older Mercury gauges get so cloudy that they can't be read. There are no (cheap) replacements so I decided to try fix the problem myself. Carefully taking the lenses out with an x-acto knife worked - at least for now. We will see if the "seal" that was broken becomes a problem. Here are pics - one of the interior lens (cheap plastic - totally sun damaged) and the "after" with just the outside lens remaining. The difference between the two gauges is incredible.
