1988 17 ft Mako Flats Boat

I am looking to buy a 1988 17ft Flats Boat. Going to look at it. It has a Yamaha 130 on it, says it runs. What do I look for? he is asking $5500 which seems expensive. Pictures look it fair shape. Any help on where the major problem areas could be on this boat.

Transom, Gas Tank, Compression in the engine, Trailer condition, and over all appearance of the hull and trailer. Is it clean and maintained. If you have a friend who is boat savvy have them go along as they may pick up on issues you might miss.

Thank You for the post. The boat is in fair shape. Engine will need to be rebuilt and trailer will need work also. The boat is sea worthy, but not to our standards.

Main concern was structually, like stringers are bad.
