Going to look at a 1987 Mako 20 C tomorrow.

She is all original, including a 1987 Johnson 140hp OB

I am told she is in great shape for her age but I will see for sure

I was hoping to get some feed back on this boat model and engine from any one that has owned or been around this era Mako. Any specifics that I need to be aware of prior to viewing

    Thanks

I owned an '85 20c and found it to be a great all around boat with a 150 (dcole has her for sale in classifieds). Could run 25 miles offshore one day and take the kids water skiing the next day. I loved mine. Usually suspects on any older boat: transom, stringers, deck, fuel tank and hoses.

Welcome to CM and let us know if you bring her home!

I have the same hull and Run a 140 Evinrude. I can tell you my boat moves along at just over 40 mph even with low compression on 1 cylinder. Sailer hit on all the points. That being said, my 20c serves my fishing purposes just fine here on the Long Island Sound.

Thanks guys for the replies and information.

I did make the purchase. She is in great condition for her age.

I am sure I will need to re-power in the near future.

The transom and decks are solid. Not a spider crack on the boat.

She is coming today, cant wait.

I would post a pic if I knew how
