I'm laughin. I just dragged my new '84 172 from Waukeegan IL back to Orange County CA. Everyone in the family thinks I'm nuts. Took me about three days and the temp never got below 100. Glad to see it's not just me who does things like this. Sorry I can't help you with the transom thing. This is my first boat and I just found out what a transom is after spending some time on Classic Mako. Good luck.

The only guy's I know in Ca. are Strick & Big Shrimpen. They both own SeaCraft's.

      Strick is in Pittsburg, Ca.

BigShrimpen I'm not sure. He doesn't have it listed.

          Welcome, Fatbass!

If you put your city & state and year, model & power of your boat in your signature (in your profile), you'll get better, faster and more help. Between all the members of this forum, somebody is bound to know somebody to help almost everywhere in the country. After reading the posts for a year, I am still amazed when someone in East Flybite asks for help and one of the members immediately posts the address and phone number of a specialist right there in East Flybite.

Good luck with your transom project... if you're persistant, you'll find the help you need.
