It was just a few minutes!!!! Seriously, I had a request to have an email address changed. Since I don't have a terminal at the server anymore (hence the lack of my recent presence around here during work hours) I had to download the database... all 38 megs... make my little bitty change. And then re-upload the changed database. That all took right at 35 minutes... For one email address!

Exactly why I have to do it through the database... There is a flaw in the forum software that prohibits us from changing them through the forum profile interface. I can't get an answer on how to fix it, so I just change them via the database. Problem is that since I don't have a terminal linked to the server anymore (Brother Cyclops won't fix the damned thing), I have to do it from a remote computer and downloading/uploading takes a while.
However... I would be glad to change the email addresses for you. Just send the new address along with your username via email and I'll get it all taken care of.[]

Not to make things difficult but have you ever thought about changing forum software? I have seen a lot of them built from the following:
http://www.phpbb.com/
Here a sample one made from this software.
http://www.pensacolafishingforum.com...egory-view.asp.
I can build you a computer for waaaaaaaaaaaaaay less than $1200! I have been building mine for years for less than $200. As long as you have a case, monitor, keyboard and mouse you are set. All you have to do is replace the motherboard, cpu and possibly upgrade your ram unless you have the newer type. Oh yeah and you can use your current hard drive unless you wanted to upgrade that too! I built my last computer for $125!
Of course software is not included because of licensing UNLESS you let me install linux Red Hat FC2 or FC4 on it which would be free!
Basically I would say if I were to use linux I could build one for less than $200 provided you already have the above stuff, if not I would have to get some prices on the other equipment ie...case, monitor etc... All this stuff is going down in price, heck I can get a 2gig processor for less than $40.

$1200 is for a laptop. I have enough desktops and mini towers. I need something portable.
I've thought about chnging software, but I don't know if I can bring all the threads/member info (database) safely to a new forum software.
Aside from a fe bugs, this software is pretty good. And the price is right... Free!
