I have a mid-80's Mercury 115 (6 cylinder, "tower of power")on my '79 Mako (20'). I winterized the engine and stored it with a full tank of gas (along with the recomended additive). I ran the tank down to ~1/4. The engine now hesitates when I re-start and seems to run sluggish. There also appears to be more smoke in the exhaust.

I have changed the fuel/water filter, added more gas/oil mixture and will change the plugs (fairly minimal hrs on them).

Anything I should be considering? Any suggestions for getting the performance back?
