  • Engine flush additives, to do or not to do??

I just bought the boat this year, and it is the shop now to get the heads removed and cleaned.Pretty clogged and corroded. It is obvious that the previous owner was not one to flush his engine after use. I don't want this to happen again. Should I flush with fresh water only after use, or should I use a flush additive, and what brand. Give me your opinions, all opinions requested. Sorry,... forgot details. 2000 Yamaha 175 Hp. 2 Stroke, oil injected. Salt water use. Texas, (hot) usually sits on trailer when not in use. Sometimes in the sling over salt water. Don

I've never had a problem over the years with just flushing with fresh water after every trip. The only think additives may help IMO is if there is some kind a salt/corrosion build up from not flushing for a while.
