  • My new Mako

I just bought a 1984 Mako 17' boat. My first. I don't know much about boats. Guess that's why I bought this one. Boat, motor & trailer $3K. Boat and motor are in great shape. The motor is an '87 Evinrude 110 hp. I was thinking of getting a new (used) motor to replace it. Saw a '95 Yamaha 130 hp with a 25" shaft for $3,250 on ebay. Will that work on my boat or do I need a 20" shaft?

pvlane, I don't know the answer to your question, but congratulations on your first boat and welcome to the forum.

I think that boat is best with a 20" shaft. c e carter has a line on a 20" shaft 130 hp Yam I think. Get in touch with him.
