  • Rude Float Plan

Artie posted a float plan for a trip on July 1st. There's no follow up message. Anybody heard from him?

I was thinking the same thing, but he has been on the forum since the trip... 8pm last night(July 2) was the last time he logged on.

He said he's been fishing the Gulfcoast rodeo so I imagine the're pretty tired when they get back. The final weigh in is tomorrow I believe. I spoke with him on Friday and tried to call this eve but no luck yet.

He's back. I think he just forgot to let everyone know. I'll make sure to bust his chops for being a dumb ass.

Hey Rude - Any fish stories? I haven't seen results from rodeo. I know seas were worse than forcasted, but alot of people still fished. I think this damn storm is going to mess up our blue water (prettiest blue water 25 miles out I've seen in awhile).

We hooked and "released" way too many big fish. I can't remember ever losing so many good fish. The seas were really nasty all weeekend. Ended up with 5 black grouper for the dinner table over the weekend. Caught more King's than you can imagine with some really agressive and intertaining strikes (NASA, we have lift off !!)on live hardtails, just didn't put any big ones in the boat. Weighed a 21lb 7oz Baracuda that took 2nd place, but we missed the awards ceremony because I took the fishing crew and family to the islands on Monday and came in for the Casino fireworks on the water. Great show. I'll post l;inks to some videos in another thread.

So, all in all, we caught a lot of fish, but no real tournament class fish. I know where they are, just can't seem to get them in the boat after last weeks trip. Alabama Deep Sea rodeo right around the corner though. 21 Contender on the line. Here we go again. []

Nasty seas and lost fish but still better than working. I talked with someone yesterday that after 25 minute fight lost a 50+lb ling at the boat - fishing the Gus rig Friday or Saturday late. I hope that storm (Dennis) doesn't effect the rodeo. I need to win and sell that 21 Contender so I can enclose transom, add bracket, and pair of 4 strokes. I am also planning to take nieces out to fish young anglers tournament Saturday.

We'll be fishing the Youth tournament if the weather is right. I'll be on VHF 68 as always. Good luck.
