    Mist....

Let them beat themselves up all they want. I got so tired of hearing SCOUT..SCOUT. Going to see the SCOUT plant was like going to see the Pope in Rome. We have our own home now...[][][]

    Many Thanks to Eddie.

For the most part I just got tired of newcomers getting the following: Hey! Welcome! We'll answer you this time. BUT JOIN THE CAPT's CLUB DAMMIT! -OR- Thats been gone over hunders of times... DO A SEARCH AND THEN JOIN THE CAPT's CLUB!

I gave, and I'd give again if I feel the need. I still good over there and sort though the threads. Some good stuff pops up there and everywhere for that matter. Trust me, we'll have some weak or boring stuff come through here too.

This is a good oppertunity for us to compile a plethora of Mako information in ONE PLACE. And we can be a Mako family (whether the current parent company cares or not).

The Pope! I nearly split my sides laughing.

I do agree with the points made and would also pony up again as I would here if the time comes. Maybe you could pay off your student loans and do Mako rebuilds full time[] At least we all knew about cracking gell coat, rotton wood, and that ugly brown trim up front[]

What cracks me up is that I've been trying to sell that Teak swim platform that caused my transom to rot for over a year now. No takers! I guess everyone has read my manifesto about what caused my transom to rot and won't touch the cursed thing with a 10' pole.

            Mist...

Didn't you know when you entered the SCOUT Plant you had to bow to the East and get down on the prayer mats?

I never did get the details of what you had to do when you visted the Yamaha Plant.[8D]

            Eddie...

That gas cap isn't jinxed is it? I have enough problems with water in the tank.[]

Ed, The same platform is still on mine. I'm scared to take it off and find the ugly black stuff. I did remove one of the transom mounted transducers. I drilled the holes get a little deeper and larger to see what crud would come out. There were 8 holes total that had been drilled over the years. I drilled out very little black on the first oversize (about .062) the moved up to the 1/4 diameter bit and drilled nothing but pure wood. This made me happy. I know I should just take it off and inspect it. It gets a lot of use both in the water and when on the trailer so I couldn't live w/o it.

LiveBait, I haven't been on my knees since my wedding day. I ain't going to start now[]

Alcedo, yes I still have the inserts. Email me at [email protected] and we'll figure something out.

                  id="blue">Long Live Pope Eddie

And don't give up on the swim platform. The one on my 224 looks kinda shakey. I'd just as soon have a clean looking one rotting out my transom. I'll take your's off your hands if mine is as bad as it looks in the photos.

Besides...if mine rots out ...I can have the same fun you are having[]

Hey Ring. Nice site. Looks like everyone but me has a forum dedicated to their "old school" fishin' rig. Hope you guys don't shy away from the "other" site. Late.

Not sure what you guys are talking about, but if this site was berthed out of another where people were trying to tell you a Scout is a better boat than an old Mako, that is just a shame...

News flash, 95% of new boats sold today are complete junk.
