  • What size fuel line?

I have '94 225 Merc. 3.0 Carb. Want to change the old fuel line from Racor water separator to engine as well as bulb. Does this application require 3/8 or 5/16" fuel line? Thanx in advance.

I would go with the bigger 3/8". Make sure the bulb and filter nipples match. I had 5/16" in mine before the new motors and the techs/brother changed them out as a requirement.

I absolutly ditto Rudes answer. 3/8 will flow the nessecary fuel you need at WOT. Here is a good article on installation of primer bulbs,

this is the one I was telling you about Artie./ dave

Thanks Dave. I was actually able to figure the problem out after you laborously taught me the ways of the world. The starboard fuel line was sucking air at the filter. I didn't put teflon around the fittings... ooooppppsssss. I'm gonna add some more 3/8" fuel line to the lead end of the bulb when I get home. You should patent the reverse thumb, squeeze bulb, release finger, and turn yourself around, failed primer bulb technique. Great stuff. []

            Thanks to you both,

The "whaler" thread was very helpful as well as the teflon tip. Just one ignorant question though, will the teflon hold up to gasoline?

[B)] I hope. That's the way mine's done. The new racor's I bought actually came with a tube of "teflon" type gel. No idea where it went after the first filter though.
